  • Accurately enter payroll data for semimonthly and biweekly payrolls into EXL’s 3rd party payroll systems
  • Maintain and update company HRIS data
  • Manage non-exempt employee time tracking through 3rd party system
  • Meet all deadlines for payroll transmission
  • Assist with employee questions as they relate to payroll
  • Assist on various payroll and HR Ops related projects and testing
  • Support Payroll and SOX audits
  • Respond to State Department of Labor queries and unemployment information requests
  • Establishing relationships between 3rd party payroll vendor
  • Prepare and upload payroll files into third party vendor sites (401k, FSA, etc)
  • Manage state , local and federal tax processing with TPA
  • Required reporting for internal and external compliance
  • Manage liens and garnishments
  • Process stock payrolls and special bonus payrolls
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
  • Work with internal finance, Human Resources and Tax teams to ensure compliances are met.
  • Work with outside Third Party vendors to ensure compliance are met

Review and audit payroll submissions


    • Detail oriented; demonstrate ability to handle confidential / sensitive data
    • Ability to effectively communicate (both verbal and written)
    • Ability to work independently
    • Ability to prioritize and multi-task workload
    • Effective research skills
    • State and Local tax and payroll law knowledge
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills
    • Strong Problem solving and analytical skills, including suggestion of appropriate actions
    • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to be resourceful and escalate issues when necessary
  • 5 -10 years HR/Payroll work experience
  • Bachelor Degree required
  • Experience with ADP, CheckpointHR or other payroll application preferred, but not required
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office knowledge
  • General background knowledge of HR and benefits administration
