The Finance Transformation team within EXL Consulting practice is a world class, global professional services group dedicated to helping CFO’s develop and execute winning strategies and to drive improvements in effectiveness across the Finance organization.


We are hiring Project Managers (PMs) in the Greater New York City area. This reports to the Engagement Manager. This person will participate in service delivery on medium to large teams engaged in finance transformation engagements for global clients.


Successful candidates will have some finance and accounting experience and will have been a part of transformation initiatives such as: implementing new systems, ERP/ GL, setting up shared services, exposure to key F&A processes plus exposure to Oracle.


  • Work on a team to quickly advance the client goals and objectives, using great listening skills and creativity in forming and executing a solution
  • Define success criteria and report on progress to the criteria to involved parties throughout project and program life cycle
  • Bring experience in developing and managing comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements and company goals
  • Coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases, from initial development through implementation
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues critical to the clients' strategic and operational success
  • Identify areas of operational and technical change management impacting the status quo
  • Structure, propose solution options and solve problems from beginning to end
  • Set and continually manage project and program expectations while managing deliverable with team members and stakeholders
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise more junior team members
  • Understand client business, strategic objectives, and develop relationships
  • Maintain and expand client relationships through delivery of high quality work
  • Provide project management throughout entire execution to ensure success as defined by adherence to standards of scope, target benefit, budget, and timeline


  • No 7 more than years of work experience, but with at least 2-3 years of consulting and project management experience in successfully leading projects that are on-time, on-schedule and within budgetStrong experience in creating and presenting communications for executive sponsors
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills; both written and oral to various audiences including technical and non-technical staff and all levels of management
  • Must be willing and able to travel to client work locations up to five days/week (50-80% travel)
  • An undergraduate degree from a leading academic institution (Finance or Economics preferred)
  • Experience with project management processes, terminology and tools – both waterfall and agile
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Procurement (P2P), and/or Record-to-Report (R2R) and/or Order-to- Cash (O2C) would be preferred, along with process re-design / optimization and migration
