Overview

EXL Finance Transformation Consulting is seeking to temporarily fill the position of benefits accountant. This position is responsible for the oversight and US GAAP accounting for firm-wide pension and US benefit plans, and external reporting of the 401(k) and US qualified pension plans.






Responsibilities

  • Reports to departmental Executive Director
  • Responsible for the accounting, reconciliation and substantiation of certain employee benefit expense and balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare SEC 10Q, 10K and MD&A related employee benefit disclosures
  • Responsible for US employee benefit plan financial statements 
  • Prepare/review monthly fringe expense analysis and forecasting at the Firm-wide and segment reporting levels. 
  • Respond to client and audit inquiries. 
  • Develop new accounting processes in response to emerging guidance, evolving industry standards, corporate transactions and new plans 
  • Maintain and update strong control environment/audit documentation
  • Oversee documentation and improvements related to SOX Compliance
  • Coordinate Global Pension/Postretirement Plans Assumptions setting annually
  • Respond and interact with various internal clients (HR, Legal, Tax, External Reporting, Business Unit Controllers, Payroll and Information Technology Team) and external auditors.
  • Reporting to Tax of the Pension/Postretirement balance sheet by segment

Qualifications

  • BS in Accounting/Finance
  • CPA preferred
  • 8 to 12 years of accounting experience
  • Strong technical accounting, research skills and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and multi-tasking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. 
  • Ability to quickly adapt and learn software applications
