    As the Manager of Systems Engineer and DBA you are responsible for managing staff , supporting clients and leading the organization in Systems and Database administration to support the CareRadius application ( both hosted and on premise).


    Managing Staff

    As manager you are responsible for ensuring ongoing training and development that will allow the team to be accountable for the following activities:

      • Installation, administration, maintenance, and performance tuning of various operating systems, such as AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, Linux, Windows Server.
      • Installation, administration, maintenance, and performance tuning of application and web server products such as Apache, Tomcat, IIS, WebSphere and Java.
      • Installation, administration, maintenance, and performance tuning of Oracle database software.
      • Provide Systems Engineering assistance to clients and internal departments.
      • Work directly with clients to plan and implement PHS, applications and web server technologies, and Oracle technologies at client sites and EXL hosting facilities
      • Develop tools, documentation, and procedures that sustain and improve the technical services provided to clients
      • Evaluate new technologies, tools, and utilities as necessary to improve EXL PHS services and products.
      • Manage resourcing and commitments for SLAs
      • Support Development Dept. projects and assist in stress and load testing analysis, environment set-up, and testing scripts.


    Supporting Clients

    The manager of this team is responsible for the client and hosted environments being correctly sized, designed, installed, tested, and all configuration being validated with an extremely low tolerance (i.e deviation) from standard -99% accuracy and the related client satisfaction for EXL PHS product performance and uptime.  The SE/DBA Manager will do so through individual contribution and through the management of the SE/DBA team, designing processes, documentation and obtaining appropriate client sign off. 


    Activities include planning, installation, support, troubleshooting, and testing of EXL PHS products, both at client sites and the EXL hosting/SaaS center. These responsibilities include:

    • supporting the developers with performance testing, scalability testing, and functionality testing of products in a SOA/n-tier architecture, as well as products which use a client/server model;
    • assisting clients and potential clients with hardware sizing, installation, testing, and troubleshooting of EXL PHS products and any necessary 3rd party products for both on premise and hosted installations;
    • assist the in-house Systems Administration staff and client IT staff with Unix and Windows server installation, maintenance, and administration, network infrastructure planning, installation, and support, and disaster-recovery planning;
    • document all activities in a system that can be shared internally and with clients and can manage to SLA’s
    • develop any necessary procedures and/or documents to facilitate the above


     Educational and Experience

    • BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalency in experience.
    • 3+ years experience managing and organizing technical teams of 4-8 people.
      • Evaluate business objectives and break them down into actionable directives
      • Build  and execute implementation plans
      • Perform resource and capacity planning
      • Manages concurrent projects well
    • 3+ years experience working directly with clients and potential clients on services, performance and critical needs.
      • Build relationships
      • Meet SLAs
      • Support client objectives
      • Communicates effectively
      • Troubleshoots and escalates as necessary
    • 3+ years of experience in system administration on various technologies/operating systems, performing installs, patches, troubleshooting performance problems, and handling user security issues. Including:
      • Oracle database
      • Virtualization ( primarily VMware)
      • AWS
      • Networking
      • Installing and working in a SOA environment
    • Strong problem solving skills and ability to communicate with clients, liaison across the organization and communicate well with leadership team. 
    • Demonstrate ability to learn new technologies and evaluate for adoption
    • Self-directed and self-motivated both as a leader and as an individual contributor.
