  • Overview

    Provide assistance to employees and location HR and payroll staff on day-to-day payroll questions and concerns, showing a high level of support and top-quality customer service while adhering to strict confidentiality

    Responsibilities

    Provide assistance to employees and locations on day-to-day payroll questions and concerns, showing a high level of support and top-quality customer service while adhering to strict confidentiality
    • Answer general pay and deduction questions from employees, including helping them understand paystub information, maintaining confidentiality
    • Provide general assistance with standard HR issues (i.e., address changes, emergency contacts, etc.)
    • Provide assistance with time entry, in order to facilitate accurate information and expedite approval procedures for hourly weekly payroll
    • Execute controls to ensure data integrity and accuracy of payroll data and timeliness of payroll in accordance to legal requirements and company policies

    • Process multi state payroll using PeopleSoft
      • Process off-cycle / manual check requests in accordance to legal and business units’ requirements
      • Maintain excellent working relationships and communication with business unit HR and payroll contacts
      • Audit pre and post payroll process and assist with the payroll calculation and finalization
    • Archive and file payroll backup and balancing materials for hourly and drivers payroll

    • Create and maintain documentation and review for SOX controls
    • Assist in the review and input of federal and state W4 data and local tax withholding set up, direct deposit enrollment and benefit deductions
    • Assist with multiple payroll projects using independent judgment

    • Assist as needed with printing, distribution, mail sorting, etc. for 8,000 paychecks on a weekly basis

    Qualifications

    Prior experience working in fast paced growing organization

    • Multi-state, full-cycle payroll experience required
      • Knowledge of PeopleSoft 9.x required; Kronos skills a plus
      • Knowledge of payroll regulations such as federal and state wage and hour laws, and tax laws
      • Must have good oral and written communication skills
      • Ability to perform detail analysis and resolve payroll related issues and to maintain complete and accurate records
      • Possess excellent client services skills, and have the ability to perform multiple tasks within a given timeframe
    • Extremely detail-oriented and well organized
      • Strong knowledge of MS Office Word and Excel
    • Ability to work independently and with little supervision

    • Flexibility to work odd hours or hours dictated by the business to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing
