  • Overview

    This position oversees high impact and visible projects that get executed through the agile methodology. The Agile Coach works with the Scrum Master, Product Owner and other stakeholders to drive the adoption, standardization and maturation of the agile methodology of projects across the portfolio and enterprise.  The Agile Coach enables the project/program leadership team in ensuring the initiatives are executed as quickly as possible while also managing risk, stakeholders, and resources. The focus of the Agile Coach is on driving business agility from idea conception to execution of projects, not solely on the mechanics of the Agile methodology

    Responsibilities

    • Follow Agile methodologies and principles for the coordination of multiple, concurrent projects. Coordinate efforts with personnel from the various IT and business functions across the enterprise
    • Coach Scrum teams (Scrum Master, Product Owner, Dev Team) on their journey to become high performing teams
    • Conduct quarterly Maturity assessments of scrum teams to identify areas for improvement / coaching
    • Assist CIO and Project Management Office (PMO) with the creation of regular senior management reports, coordinate company-wide demos, and assist development projects as necessary (such as rolling out new tools and technologies to teams)
    • Facilitate decision-making, issue resolution and consensus among the team members and dependent teams
    • Help standup new Agile teams by working with all stakeholders through Sprint 0
    • Help move whole functional groups Agile via Scrum of Scrums, SAFe, LeSS, etc.
    • Use Scrum, Kanban and XP practices where applicable
    • Adapt project management framework to stakeholder, project, and team needs
    • Coach the business owner with setting and enforcing strategic direction for project (guiding principles, themes, and success metrics)
    • Recommend options for continuous improvement of Agile usage

    Manage risks and have risk mitigation plans in place

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience in Agile 
    • 3+ years of Scrum Master experience
    • 3+ years of managing teams and complex projects
    • Experience in coaching scrum masters / Jr. Scrum Masters preferred
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
    • CSM (Certified Scrum Master) or similar certification required
    • Demonstrated excellence in leadership and ability to create collaborative, productive teams
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with global team
    • Experience in performing business analysis, writing user stories and use cases
    • Experience with JIRA, TFS, Rally, etc.
