  • Overview

    The Technical Leader serves as a solution guide on EXL client engagement teams. This role works directly with EXL’s clients to understand their highest priority business and IT needs and then architect and lead implementations of appropriate solutions that meet the needs of the customer.  The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of systems architecture with a proven track record of designing and implementing a variety of robust, creative and cost-effective web-based technology solutions in a large, complex environment, particularly with Python and Django.  This candidate must also have solid organizational skills, including the capability to break down complex enterprise needs spanning multiple applications into multi-phased, integrated solution plans that can be implemented by heterogeneous project teams comprised of client, partner and EXL team members.  The Technical Leader must possess a deep knowledge in multiple technology areas that allows him or her to integrate between the various technologies in use within an enterprise environment.  Being a key leader of the delivery team, the Technical Leader should expect to spend about much of his or her time architecting solutions, and providing leadership and oversight to development team members and their output.

    Responsibilities

    • Provides technical direction and coordination for complex technical projects across technology and functional lines and between clients, vendors and EXL team members
    • Provides expertise surrounding idioms within procedural, object oriented, aspect oriented, rules-based, workflow-based and service oriented paradigms
    • Provides Python and Django expertise and developer leadership
    • Lead large teams of Python and Django developers
    • Conduct and participate in code reviews to ensure quality output of development team
    • Provide technical leadership to other consultants and lead teams in the completion of complex solutions
    • Provide hands on support for development team when struggling to meet client commitments and get through difficult problems in execution
    • Manage sets of resources crossing multiple projects, including balancing and adjusting to anticipated and unanticipated project needs
    • Identify and articulate one-time versus reusable solution aspects, documenting and publishing reusable solution components across the company
    • Perform other duties as indicated

    Qualifications

    • Consulting background – expertise in client management and presenting to C-level executives
    • Experience working in Agile / Devops environment
    • Ability to interact with business team to develop solutions based on complex business requirements, conduct solution demos and take feedback from business leaders to refine technical solution
    • Has mastery across common artifacts used in common SDLCs. For example UML, entity relationship, SIPOC, flow charts, system diagrams and network diagrams
    • Mastery of web-based technologies including web application server, JavaScript, Python, RDBS; knowledge of Django framework highly desirable
    • Ability to translate business needs into solution architecture requirements
    • Ability to define, compare and contrast multiple solution options for business problems
    • Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
    • Ability to articulate the effect of technology on business
    • Knowledge of consultative skills including analysis, influencing, negotiation, account management and relationship building
    • Ability to form strong and trusting relationships with clients, vendors and team members
    • Thoroughly versed in web technologies including web services, AJAX, web page generation and scripting
    • Diverse hands-on experience leveraging Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) paradigms including infrastructure service options, messaging styles, and canonical design
    • Excellent interpersonal and written & oral communication skills
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Capable of working independently
    • Effective team member and leader
    • Must be willing to travel 80% or located in Pittsburg, PA - Every alternate week or 2 weeks onsite and 2 week offsite will work.
