    Role Overview

    Data Engineer will be responsible for expanding and optimizing healthcare payer data, data pipeline architecture and data flow to enable analysis for member experience across several dimensions. The ideal candidate for this position will perform preliminary descriptive analysis on the underlying dimensions and collaborate with data scientists for seamless work flow.

    Responsibilities

    • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
    • Capture a 360 degree view of member experience by consolidating disparate data sets
    • Build the infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading data from a wide variety of data sources using big data technologies
    • Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into key business performance metrics
    • Perform preliminary descriptive analysis on various aspects of member journey – points of care , claims adjudication, operational processes, appeals mechanism
    • Work with data analysts and scientists to strive for greater functionality in data systems

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics/Mathematics, Econometrics/Economics, Engineering/Computer Science, Business/Finance, or related quantitative field
    • 3-5 years of relevant programming or analytic experience.
    • Extensive knowledge in different programming/scripting languages (C++, Python, R)
    • Expert knowledge regarding different databases such as MongoDB/ HDFS
    • Expert in building data processing systems with Hadoop and Hive using Java or Python
    • Proficient in designing efficient and robust ETL workflows
    • Proficiency in PySpark
    • Good knowledge of SQL and MS Excel
    • Preliminary Knowledge of Statistical Techniques – Descriptive Statistics, Hypothesis Testing, Tests of Significance, Correlation
