    Role Overview:

    The Insurance Data Management Lead role is responsible for the growth of the global Insurance data management practice through the successful delivery of consulting services, identification of delivery solutions, thought leadership, networking and development of trusted advisor relationships with clients.  The role will be accountable for ensuring the success of Insurance customer accounts through the pro-active management of customers’ expectations to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction and that their expectations are met, promoting revenue growth, retention, and overall customer satisfaction.  In addition to carrying overall vertical leadership and management responsibilities, the role will play a key part in leading sales support activities, solution definition, product development, partner relationship management, and provide consultative participation in large Insurance data management strategy engagements.

     

    This role will report directly to the VP and Head of EXL Insurance Analytics with a dotted line to the VP and Head of EXL Data.

    Responsibilities

    • Research and analyze client’s strategic goals, industry challenges, regulatory requirements, pain points, inefficiencies and any unmet business needs where data can be leveraged as a strategic asset in Insurance
    • Develop and maintain the budget and forecasts for Insurance revenue from EDM consulting services and solutions
    • Create, prioritize and update a strategic plan to maximize growth opportunities and ensure the ability to meet or exceed annual revenue budget
    • Generate new customer opportunities by creating and prioritizing a list of Insurance organizations for the sales team to target, leveraging existing network, identifying industry specific conferences to attend and directing marketing campaigns
    • Partner with Account Management and Delivery to create, update and track account plans for growing existing customer revenue
    • Support sales efforts for the securing of new customer revenue and new revenue from existing customers. This includes, but is not limited to:
      • Sales calls
      • RFI & RFP responses
      • Proposals
      • Statements of Work
      • Conferences
      • Marketing campaigns and co-marketing events
    • Collaborate with EXL Analytics to identify new cross-sell opportunities and enable effective cross-selling of EDM and analytic services to new and existing customers
    • Support or lead client workshops in support of business change and technical knowledge acquisition
    • Work with technical competency directors to ensure that the Datasource delivery team delivers consistently, competently and in alignment with the requirements of the SOW and Datasource Methodology for InsuranceWork closely with Engagement Management to oversee the successful delivery of services of Datasource Insurance related engagements, including the assembly of effective project teams, client communication, budget tracking, adherence to delivery standards and team performance
    • Partner with cross-functional teams in engineering, product, marketing and sales by creating and leading or supporting high priority Insurance related projects sponsored by leadership (solutions & accelerators)
    • Develop and maintain partner strategy by researching and analyzing product, customer and market needs
    • Develop new partnerships (via sourcing, exploring, framing, vetting, etc.) with inbound partners or with alliances and strategic partner prospects
    • Support the Marketing function by writing articles, blog posts and case studies. Also, develop and deliver presentations and webinars to support solutions and vendor relationship
    • Serve as the conduit and escalation point for problem management of customer sales and delivery issues for Insurance
    • Work closely with the Finance team on the development of leading and current management reporting metrics to forecast sales pipeline and track growth efforts
    • Facilitate consistent communication to EXL leadership outlining status, risks, issues, and action plans
    • Provide coaching and mentoring of Consultants and Delivery leadership around Insurance property & casualty and life & annuity operating models, industry challenges, compliance and regulatory requirements, operational structures and business opportunities
    • Assist with the recruiting of new employees and contract resources
    • Contribute to the corporate knowledge base and document repository to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of delivery for the Insurance vertical

     

    Qualifications

    Experience & Education

    • MBA, MS, or other advanced degree.
    • 10+ years of experience in business development, product management, partnership development, or related endeavor
    • 10+ years of experience in product, partnerships or strategic marketing function in the Insurance industry, preferably in Property & Casualty and Life & Annuity.
    • Deep Insurance industry experience
    • Strong data management expertise, including a strategic perspective, strong business development skills, the ability to clarify and summarize complex issues and a strong attention to detail

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Data management expertise BA/BS degree in a technical, Insurance or engineering field, or equivalent practical experience..
    • Deep functional experience in the following business skills: strategic business development, structuring and negotiating complex agreements, technology and/or partnerships strategy development
    • Leading and growing professional services and delivery organizations
    • Experienced in identifying partners, analyzing and structuring complex agreement structures with a proven track record of negotiation.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    • Experience with managing people, including mentoring and leadership skills
    • Demonstrated and proven experience in building, managing and growing a consulting services practice

    Physical Demands and Working Conditions

    • Works in a normal office environment requiring light physical effort by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently
    • Works with standard office equipment (such as phone, fax and personal computer)
    • Ability to navigate stairs frequently during the course of a business day in various work locations
    • Sitting at desk for most of day, and working with computer
